Rain lashes many parts of Tuticorin and Tirunelveli

Tuticorin: Heavy rain lashed various parts of the district since Friday noon affecting normal life. Five houses were damaged in Tiruchendur. The maximum rain of 90 mm was recorded in Kayalpattinam.

Rainfall recorded in other places (in mm): Tiruchendur 29, Kulasekarapattinam 52, Vilathikulam 40, Kadalkudi 20, Vaipar 12, Surangudi 15, Vembar 17, Kazhugumalai 23, Kadambur 7, Kovilpatti 2, Ottapidaram 41.3, Vanchchi Maniyachi 17, Vedanatham 25, Keelarasaradi 32, Ettayapuram 20, Sathankulam 30, Srivaikuntam 31 and Tuticorin 25.2 mm.

Tirunelveli

Several parts of Tirunelveli also experienced heavy rain. The district administration declared a holiday for educational institutions. Rainfall recorded in dams: Papanasam 7, Servallar 5, Manimuthar 7, Gadana 11.7, Ramanadhi 5, Gundar 4, Adavinainarkoil 25, Nambiyar 54 and Kodumudiyar 12. In other places: Palayamkottai 34, Ambasamudram 5, Ayakudi 10.2, Nanguneri 12, Radhapuram 24, Sankarankoil 1, Shencottai 5.5, Tenkasi 8.2; Tirunelveli 28.2 and Alangulam 1.2 mm.
