Nagercoil: Funds for facilities at Thirparappu Falls

Selection grade town panchayat office opened

With an intention to attracting both foreign and domestic tourists, says Minister

“Works are going on in full swing and they will be completed at the earliest”

Nagercoil: The Government has allotted Rs.55 lakh for improving the infrastructure at Thirparappu falls with an intention to attracting both foreign and domestic tourists, said Tourism Minister N. Suresh Rajan.

Inaugurating new office building for the selection grade town panchayat at Thirparappu on Monday, the Minister said that the works were going on in full swing and they would be completed at the earliest.

Moreover, Rs.65 lakh had also been allotted for the setting up of modern bus stand. It clearly showed that the Government was very keen on promoting tourism activities in Kanyakumari, particularly the lesser known tourist spots in the district.

The Government had also made it compulsory to wear lifesaving jackets to those tourists, who wanted to visit the Vivekananda rock memorial and Thiruvalluvar statue at Kanyakumari and also the visiting tourists, who wanted to have a pleasure drive to Pechipparai dam, said the Minister.
