CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has granted an order of interim injunction forbearing five persons from dumping earth and carrying on other related activities on the lagoon, its adjacent and surrounding areas at Muttukadu village within the prohibited 200 metres of the High Tide Line of the Coastal Regulation Zone rules.

A Division Bench comprising Justices Elipe Dharma Rao and N.Paul Vasanthakumar passed the order on a petition by the Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA). It ordered notice to respondents.
