Six trees at Maravaneri Extension and trees at Town Railway Station, Anaimedu, Manal Market, Five Roads, Fairlands and Four Roads fell bringing down with them overhead high tension power cables thus plunging many parts of the city into darkness for nearly an hour.

Advertisement and other hoardings also fell at many places in the city.

Thammampatti, Mecheri and other suburban towns also received heavy rainfall. Traffic also was disrupted at many places following the overflowing sewers.
